Glenn Phillips, founder and president of Forté Incorporated, has been named 2005 Outstanding Young Auburn Engineer by Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. The award is offered in conjunction with the institution's Alumni Engineering Council.
"Auburn's Samuel Gin College of Engineering is highly regarded, so to be recognized by Auburn University, the College of Engineering and the engineering alumni is very special," Phillips says.
Other graduates honored during the Sept. 23 ceremony were as follows: Jimmie Adams, David Scobey, Jerry Thomas and Larry Tuggle were honored as Distinguished Auburn Engineers. James Hunnicutt was recognized with the Auburn Engineering Achievement Award and Karen Sharpless was presented the Superior Service Award.
"We are truly proud of these graduates and the ways in which they have distinguished themselves in the engineering profession," Larry Benefield, dean of engineering, said in a written statement.
