Forte's Phillips Named Outstanding Young Auburn Engineer
P>Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, in conjunction with the institution's Alumni Engineering Council, presented awards for achievement and service to the college during ceremonies on the Auburn campus September 23.

Forte' Incorporated's Glenn S. Phillips was recognized as the 2005 Outstanding Young Auburn Engineer.

Jimmie Adams, David Scobey, Jerry Thomas and Larry Tuggle were honored as Distinguished Auburn Engineers. James Hunnicutt was recognized with the Auburn Engineering Achievement Award and Karen Sharpless was presented the Superior Service Award.

"We are truly proud of these graduates and the ways in which they have distinguished themselves in the engineering profession," observed Dean of Engineering Larry Benefield. "We are grateful that they were able to take the time out of their busy schedules and visit with fellow engineering alums on the Auburn campus."

"It’s a great honor," Phillips said. "Auburn's Samuel Gin College of Engineering is highly regarded, so to be recognized by Auburn University, the College of Engineeing and the engineering alumni is very special."

Phillips is the founder and president of Forte' Incorporated, a software development and computer consulting firm. Forte' provides custom software solutions, Internet-based systems and business process consulting services to clients across the United States. The firm has offices in metro-Birmingham and Mobile.

Founded by Phillips in 1991, Forté Incorporated has clients in 15 states in a wide variety of industries, including health care, insurance, commercial furniture, advertising, utilities, human resources, financial services, printing and construction.

Phillips is also the founder of LifeTrac Technologies. This company's software, called LifeTrac, has assisted over 20,000 critical trauma and stroke patients in central Alabama. LifeTrac is the pioneering technology in its market and provides other capabilities, including early warning for biological and chemical accidents and terrorism.
